Program REACH @ Suwon

What we do?

Program REACH @ Suwon is a volunteer initiative run by Suwon's expatriate community. Our mission is to impart second language skills to the students that neither have access to the Native English Teachers in their schools nor have the resources to attend the private academies.

We teach conversational English to the higher elementary and middle school students at
꿈을키우는집, an orphanage near Suwon Sports Complex. The students here do not have the opportunity to learn English and to arm themselves with necessary skills to compete in Korea's highly competitive society. This is where the program REACH comes in.

About Program REACH @ Suwon

Program REACH is the first expatriate initiative at this orphanage. Our membership is comprised of competent and dedicated volunteers from Suwon's expatriate community.

This program aims to impart not only the second language skills but also to the mentoring skills to the students. This program motivates the high school students to assist the lower elementary students. The program creates a sense of shared responsibility and community work among the high school students.

This program is all about giving something back to the community. We, the expatriates, are a part of the Korean community and we want to help our community in every feasible way.
